While the people we help are at-risk under regular circumstances, we’re entering a more challenging period for all of us, so we wanted to bring you up to date on the measures we’re taking since the RIVM (Dutch National Institute for Public Health and Environment) upgraded their recommendations this Thursday.
We’re applying social distance and avoiding public transport as much as we can now, in order to help flatten the pandemic’s curve, to limit the burden on our hospitals in the coming weeks, as that will disproportionately affect the most vulnerable.
We will continue to deliver Dignity Kits as scheduled, however, so your (monthly) support remains vital, and for this we thank you!
In times like these, actively helping out in our neighborhoods can make all the difference, and there are lots of ways to help, in addition to taking steps to reduce covid-19’s overall impact on our community. For example, we’ve offered to get groceries for our older neighbors. And some of us are joining a (free) live restorative yoga class delivered this evening–online–by a kind someone who wanted to offer relaxation and connection without risk of infection…
What other ways can you think of to show solidarity in this period? Let us know, we’ll be happy to share your ideas!
