Over the past five years, we have seen how some of the most powerful kind of change becomes possible through synergy, when purpose-driven people and organizations align their efforts and values to create something bigger than any one of us could build alone.

We’ve been grateful for the invaluable skills, expertise and good will of so many, because we understand that effectively tackling social issues can’t happen in isolation.

Two longtime partners exemplify this spirit: Yoni, makers of organic period products and promoters of menstrual health, and Lush, the cosmetics brand known for its ethical advocacy and natural ingredients. Their steadfast support has helped us shape a future where dignity and opportunity aren’t limited by access to menstrual care.

Whether through products, funding or hands-on volunteering, they become an active part of fostering systemic change.

As with other partners, we’ve tailored a model of collaboration together, one that creates value at every level:

by providing safe, sustainable period care and re-affirming their dignity and autonomy.

by breaking the silence around period poverty and normalizing access as a fundamental right.

by boosting participation levels, physical and mental well-being, as well as educational and employment opportunities otherwise out of reach for those pushed to the margins.

When people have reliable access to menstrual products, they show up – at school, at work, in their communities – with greater confidence and agency.

With Yoni and Lush by our side, we’ve helped ensure that thousands of individuals experiencing period poverty are no longer forced to choose between their health and other basic needs. That’s not just an act of compassion, it’s about measurably contributing to public health, gender equity, and economic resilience. Research, including our own, confirms that reliable access to needed products and information is linked to a range of positive benefits beyond improved physical and mental health. By supporting us, partners like Lush and Yoni help us reduce stigma and provide the resources people need to care for themselves. As our partners, they enable more people – especially those who menstruate – to participate fully in society. But the returns benefit us all, including those who don’t menstruate. Despite appearances, this isn’t charity, it’s a social investment. (Illustration by Anneloes Dijkman.)

In their own words:

Lush is proud to have been able to support Amsterdam-based organisation Neighborhood Feminists with donations raised through our Charity Pot grants programme. Charity Pot has always championed grassroots, high-impact initiatives that advance human rights, animal welfare, and environmental justice. Neighborhood Feminists’ work on period poverty exemplifies this mission: the organisation has done amazing work on the topic, both through providing direct relief to those in need and combining that with important research and advocacy work that seeks to create systemic change. Neighborhood Feminists’ insistence on dignity for all stands out as a marker across their work, and we are happy to be able to support them in this important cause.

Yoni and Lush serve as a model for what’s possible: business and practical activism working hand in hand. These longer term partnerships with Neighborhood Feminists prove that aligning values with targeted, consistent action can create meaningful, measurable outcomes. These partnerships are built on our on-the-ground expertise and the specific skill sets of our partners, ensuring complementarity while making tangible social progress.

Yoni and Lush have helped us move the needle toward greater menstrual equity. And they’ve done it not just with generosity, but with vision, recognizing that when we reduce barriers for some, we raise the baseline for everyone.

Long-term, tailored partnerships like these aren’t just supportive. They are foundational, and serve as catalysts. They show how sustained collaboration can result in needed solutions which bring real value to individuals and communities, and contribute to a more equitable society.

Thank you for walking this path with us, Lush and Yoni. We’ll continue working toward a future where dignity is a given, rather than a privilege. Support like yours will help make that future real.
