While 2025 is already in full swing, we wanted to pause and reflect on past year’s achievements. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made and looking forward to driving meaningful change ahead.
Our CODE RED research revealed a remarkable reduction in period poverty in Amsterdam, with rates falling from 27% to 14% in just two years, thanks to our successful advocacy at the city council level, ensuring that the city of Amsterdam helps support our distribution of free period products. While we rely on support from businesses and individual donors, this structural support will continue to be crucial to ensure that people can menstruate safely and with dignity.
The hard fact is that many people who menstruate in the Netherlands still face challenges. In Amsterdam alone, 28,000 people still struggle to afford the products they need. We remain committed to continuing product distribution, raising awareness and combating the stigma around periods, while continuing to stand for human rights.
Here’s to another year of progress and change for the better, in our community and the world at large!
